Forklift training is only complete when the operator can apply the knowledge on the equipment and in the workplace. Optimal Safety Solutions delivers operator training that combines formal instruction, practical exercises, and a documented performance evaluation.

Programs are tailored for warehouses, distribution centers, construction sites, manufacturing facilities, utilities, retail operations, and other employers using powered industrial trucks.

Forklift training options

• Initial operator training and evaluation: for new operators or employees assigned to a different truck or operating environment.
• Refresher training: following unsafe operation, an incident or near miss, an observed deficiency, a change in equipment, or a change in workplace conditions.
• Three-year operator evaluation: practical evaluation to help employers meet OSHA’s recurring evaluation requirement.
• Customized trainer development: available for organizations building or strengthening an internal operator-training program.

Course content

• Truck controls, capacity, stability triangle, load center, and operating limitations
• Pre-use inspections, defect reporting, refueling or charging, and parking
• Load handling, visibility, ramps, docks, pedestrians, aisles, and surface conditions
• Attachments, trailers, narrow spaces, and site-specific hazards
• Hands-on operation and performance evaluation on the employer’s equipment

Onsite and hybrid delivery

Onsite operator training and evaluation are available nationwide. Formal instruction may be delivered live virtually or through a hybrid program, but required practical training and evaluation are completed with the operator and applicable equipment. Multi-shift, multi-site, and international project delivery is available for U.S.-based organizations.
