Lock out/ Tag out

Lockout/tagout training must be role specific. Employees who apply locks need a deeper level of instruction than employees who operate equipment or work near an energy-control procedure. We build the course around those responsibilities and the actual hazards in your facility.

Training by employee role

• Authorized employees: energy-source recognition, shutdown, isolation, lock and tag application, stored-energy control, verification, group lockout, and return to service.
• Affected employees: purpose and use of the energy-control program, notification, operating restrictions, and prohibited actions.
• Other employees: recognizing lockout/tagout activity and understanding the prohibition against restarting or reenergizing equipment.
• Supervisor and refresher training: inspections, procedural deficiencies, job changes, new equipment, and program enforcement.

• Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, thermal, chemical, and gravitational energy
• Machine-specific procedures and normal-production exceptions
• Zero-energy verification and control of residual or stored energy
• Group lockout, shift changes, contractor coordination, and removal of another employee’s lock
